Wow what a great idea, Sarah! As an artist who uses large format digital printing, I know first hand about the lack of these facilities in Philly.

I am very excited for this too. And I love how ambitious Sarah is...wanting PPAC to be like the ICP. That's the kind of thinking that will help Philly's art scene move on up. It's risky to want to shoot for the top, but right now I see a lot of risk-taking in the collective scene and that's very encouraging. If we could get some institutional support (money, but public statements, too, about Philadelphia's art scene and all the great energy and art-making) that would help. It feels like nobody's covering this but artblog and I wish we weren't beating the drum alone.

good for her - good for the city! a resource like this was much needed. as someone who has foregone making some work due the costs of getting things scanned i truly hope the photographic community gives her plenty of business so it can thrive.

...now if only we can get 3rd ward and bag-style wood and metal studios here - we'd be set!
