There’s an installation of Indian art called “Stories, Ceremonies, and Souvenirs: Popular Painting from Eastern India” at the Philadelphia Art Museum (shown here, “Bharata Receives the Exiled Rama in Ayodhya” by Sita Devi, from the Art Museum’s collection).
Tony Fisher of Indigo Arts (see the previous post on First Friday faves) emailed us that the museum’s show includes some of the same artists and genres that he’s showing. If you’re in the market, this is a great opportunity to get further confirmation that what you like has some intrinsic merit.
