So this week is another unbelievable week of openings, recitals, talks and other events. Here’s one that caught my eye. We at artblog are big fans of Terry Adkins art-making. Here’s an opportunity to see him in action with his art-music ensemble, the Lone Wolf Recital Corps.
THE ACCOMPANISTS
Whenever Wednesdays, November 7, 2007, 5:30 PM
Terry Adkins, artist, Penn faculty member and musician, whose sculptural installations pay homage to African American geniuses of music like Bessie Smith, brings his Lone Wolf Recital Corps to ICA Wednesday, Nov. 7, for a processional with music, recitation, and ritual. Adkins’ sculptural noise-making machine (which looks like a monster music box mechanism that could grind your bones to make the giant’s bread) is a prominent piece in ICA’s current exhibit Ensemble.
NOTE: This event is not open to the public. ICA members and PennCard holders only. Space is limited. Reservations required. Please rsvp via email to rsvp@icaphila.org or fax your reservation to 215.898.5050.
