The Second Annual Kensington Kinetic Sculpture Derby needs you, people. The Derby, sponsored by the New Kensington CDC is a race of themed sculptural and people-powered floats through the streets and lots of Kensington where obstacles include not only the potholes but sand lots and a mud field. Sound like fun? Then come out to their Meet and Greet Sat. Mar. 8 1-3 pm, at Philadelphia Brewing Company, 2439 Amber St (enter on Martha St). You can get information and registration forms and maybe even meet some potential team mates there. Can’t make that? All the information is laid out nicely on the Kinetic Kensington website. This year’s derby is Sat, May 17, 12:00 pm – 5:00 pm at the Trenton Avenue Arts Festival (Trenton and Norris St).

Interested but don’t have a clue how to build a moving people-powered float vehicle? They’re having workshops!
