Tyler School of Art has named the three finalists for the very first Wolgin International Competition in the Fine Arts to be awarded October 22. They are all Americans–Sanford Biggers (NY), Michael Rakowitz (Chicago) and Ryan Trecartin (Philadelphia)!
The international prize of $150,000 is huge, and the jurors this year are Melissa Chiu, director of the Asia Society; Paolo Colombo, art advisor to the Istanbul Museum of Modern Art and managing director of Dorje Film, Rome; and Ingrid Schaffner, senior curator here at the ICA.
All this I got from the Philadelphia Inquirer, here.
