Streets Dept is presenting a panel on The Evolution of Street Art at The Philadelphia Museum of Art on Wednesday, May 27, 2015, from 6-7 PM. It’s pay what you wish to see this hour-long event, which features some of everybody’s favorite local street artists Gaia, Joe Boruchow, Ishknits, Harlequinade, and Kid Hazo.

Chances are, you stumbled upon a certain pop-up oasis last summer, and were sorry to see it go in the final weeks of August before you’d even gotten through the crowd to sample all the boardwalk’s culinary options. You’re in luck this week: Spruce Street Harbor is about to reopen for the summer! Open May 22 through the end of September, seven days a week, the park is opening one month earlier than last year and is staying open for longer. Amble through a new planted meadow with perennials donated by the Philadelphia Museum of Art, interspersed with repurposed the materials from a Sol Lewitt installation, enjoy an expanded palate of options on the SSHP Boardwalk, and avoid the wait for a sit with additional hammocks and other seating. As before, Spruce Street Harbor is free, and going to be wonderful.
