Marie Elcin organized a show at the Philadelphia Episcopal Cathedral. It’s part of a fiber/peace project started by a Danish artist. Marie says:
“I participated originally in 2012 along with some of my embroidery students at Fleisher Art Memorial. Well, the project has come full circle for me as I’m hosting the traveling exhibit of over 300 embroidered handkerchiefs at the Philadelphia Episcopal Cathedral at 38th and Chestnut. Viewing hours are Monday-Thursday11-1 pm, and Sundays 9-12 (during services). The exhibit will be on view October 1st-31st

Event date: November 19th, 2015 7pm-10pm
In an attempt to open artistic opportunities across disciplines, AUTOMAT Collective is seeking submissions from poets for a one-night casual poetry reading for November 19th. Via Paddy Johnson and AFC – Greater New York list announced:
“Basically, all we can tell you is that the show will offer wider look at the New York Contemporary scene than in years past where the focus has been on emerging artists. We’ve got dead male New York artists (Richard Artschwager, William Greaves, Lebbeus Woods, Gordon Matta Clarke). We’ve got establishment artists (Dara Birnbaum, Red Grooms, David Hamons, Charles Atlas). We’ve got mid-career artists (Michael Bell-Smith, Fia Backstrom, Seth Price). And we’ve got emerging artists. (Sondra Perry, Rebecca Patek, Bunny Rogers – all of whom we’ve lauded here.)”
