Because we all need ice cream...Local purveyor of small batch yummies Weckerly’s Ice Cream partnered with the august art collection to create a Barnes-inspired ice cream sandwich, called the “Barnes Ensemble.” The arty ice cream sandwich debuts tomorrow, Wed. Aug. 24, at Weckerley’s pop up ice cream station on the Barnes grounds on the Parkway. The pop up will be there through Labor Day, Sept. 5.

The successful candidate is responsible for assisting with the safe and efficient movement of all property flowing through the loading dock, specialist departments, photo studio and exhibition/sale rooms: unloading, unpacking and receiving of incoming consignments, setting up and breaking down exhibitions and auctions, assisting clients with the packing and removal of purchases. Travel with staff or Crew Members to make deliveries and pick-ups of consigned items. Act as a crew team member to assist with building and custodial maintenance, projects and other duties as assigned. This is a part- time/on call position. Graduate students are encouraged to apply! Portside Art Center seeks After School Arts Teacher/Assistants – The Portside Arts Center is a non-profit community-based educational arts center located at 2531 E. Lehigh Avenue, on the border of the Fishtown and Port Richmond neighborhoods in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, situated to serve over 150,000 residents.
After School Arts Teacher: Portside is looking for an enthusiastic and experienced art teacher who will instruct our 2016/17 After School Art Program. Portside’s After School Art Program (ASAP) will be held from September 7th – June 16th, Monday through Friday. The Portside’s After School Arts Program introduces children to the fundamentals of arts education through a hands-on visual arts curriculum. Portside is looking for a dedicated teacher who is organized and goes above and beyond to give our students the best instruction possible. All applicants must have experience teaching PrK-1st grades (4-7 years old.)

FJORD Gallery is pleased to announce an open call for our 2016 Juried Exhibition curated by FJORD’s artist members. We invite you to submit a single PDF of your work and image list to fjord.submissions@gmail.com for an opportunity to be featured in the exhibition. All media types are welcome and experimental, challenging, non-traditional works are encouraged. The submission fee is $20.00 for four images, $25.00 for six images.
