VICTORY!
On Friday, September 25th, 2020, Philadelphia witnessed a historical win for houseless organizers. After months of organized protest: eviction resistance, protest encampments, and housing takeovers, the city of Philadelphia made an agreement with Philadelphia Housing Action to hand over 50 vacant properties which will be put in a community land trust, and to allow 50 mothers and children to stay in 15 previously vacant properties that were taken over early in 2020.
