Is there such a thing as a Twitter artist? If so, social-networking artist Man Bartlett is your man. With the help of social networking sites, telephones, GPS’s and washing machines, the New York artist is creating art situated in the urban grid and in cyber networks. His materials are people, and the work is part performance, part intervention and part exploration of the human desire to connect. (Speaking of networks, he himself was born connected–as the son of artist Bo Bartlett.) Here’s a taste of what he has to say.
