Open call from Rebekah Templeton Contemporary Art
Juried contemporary art show, May 12-June 18, 2011
Juror – Jon Lutz, independent curator in New York. More about Luzt at his project site, the daily operation.
Open to artists from Philadelphia or elsewhere. All applying artists will be considered for future solo exhibition opportunities.
Entry Fee: $20
Important dates:
Submissions must be postmarked by March 31, 2011
Accepted artists will be notified by April 15, 2011
Exhibition opens May12th and runs through June 18th.
Artists must be available to drop off accepted work May 4th – May 8th.
Work must be picked up on or before June 26, 2011.
Submissions:
All mediums will be considered including video and performance.
All artwork must have been completed within the past three years.
Artists are responsible for delivery and removal of artwork.
Send 6-10 images no larger than 2 MB (largest dimension should be no greater than 800 pixels) on a CD. Video art should be submitted on a DVD with a total duration not to exceed 45 minutes.
*Include an image list and resume. If work has been previously exhibited in the Greater Philadelphia Area, please list venue, exhibition title and date.

Septa Art in Transit – Public Art Commission – Cheltenham/Ogontz Bus Loop
PROJECT
Art for a 200 feet long by 20 feet wide stretch of landscaped green space, parallel to Ogontz Avenue.
MATERIALS
A full range of metals and various other permanent materials should be considered, used either individually or in combination with each other. Materials may include stainless steel, epoxy resin, granite, reinforced glass, mosaic tile and anodized aluminum. Metal may be cast, welded, forged or laser cut.
BUDGET
Total art project budget — $145,000. The budget includes the artist design fee, insurance coverage, costs of materials, fabrication, shipment, installation of the work, including foundation, and other project related expenses.
DEADLINE-proposals must be received by 5pm, April 23.
