These are the lectures we dream of attending. Even if we divide up the list so we take turns going to things, we still can’t get to all of them. An outstanding group, pared down to the basic faves of R&L. (By the way, we are awaiting Tyler School of Art’s list–they are still confirming some “juicy” things, we’re told, so stay tuned for moooooore.)
Artist Peter Saul’s corrosive, cartoony paintings that comment on himself and pop culture have finally gotten the recognition they deserve. Even when under-recognized, he has been a major influence. To highlight the only East Coast showing of Peter Saul: A Retrospective, which includes 60 paintings and drawings from 1958 to the present, PAFA has organized the coolest programs in town.
