Jacob Chris Hammes– artist, teacher, curator, and founder of the gallery Pilot Projects– met with us in his gallery last week. We learned about Pilot Project’s inception and mission, as well as Hammes’ own artistic practice. Did you know he tells jokes? In this podcast, he explains his “selfish” love for curating and being surrounded by artwork, tells us how they came up with the name “Pilot Projects”, and how the space was funded. He also speaks with us about “pond theory,” and his upcoming solo show at Information, 2024 E Westmoreland St, on April 13th, 2019.
