Hi, this week a few new exhibitions are popping up, one at Icebox handing over the space to guest curators and another at Penn exploring mind expanding states. The Museum for Art in Wood is hosting a workshop Friday to kick off the launch of the first Arabic map of Philadelphia. Hope you beat the heat and get in a cool gallery!

Invited: Take Care of the Square Footage is a collaboration between Icebox Project space and 12 Philadelphia-based organizers creating 10 unique exhibiting spaces. The first day to see exhibitions is this Thursday, and the show will run until August 20th.

This exhibition runs alongside the PhilaDelic Conference hosted by the Penn Psychedelic Collaborate. Co-curated by Rain Gideon and Jackie Tileston, it features works that align with notions of mind-expanding explorations.

Vermont Studio Center floods; will launch fundraising campaign (Thanks to contributor, Virginia Maksymowicz, for alerting us to how the disastrous downpours in Vermont hit the Vermont Studio Center)
Due to the recent weather and rainfall hitting the Northeast these past weeks the Vermont Studio Center was flooded. The first floors of two buildings were affected and the Vermont Studio Center is seeking funding to address the impacts.
Join the Friends, Peace, and Sanctuary Journal for a kick-off workshop for the project Mapping Philadelphia in Arabic as Storytelling. The project creates the first map of Philadelphia in Arabic. The map aims to tell stories associated with place as well as be used for cross-cultural understanding and the ability to navigate Philadelphia, through stories and landmarks. The map chronicles the stories of Arab culture through mapping in Philadelphia.
