Dialogue and Transcription
In this 6-panel comic part of the series Socialist Grocery by Oli Knowles, Sebastian begins with narration in Panel 1, “Every Tuesday, I ‘Babysit’ a 12-year-old after he’s done with school. Lately he’s been into filming home movies and making them look like “early youtube.” Panel 2, the 12-year-old says to Sebastian, ”Thanks for helping me record this video of me with a plastic sword, head-banging to the Power Rangers theme song.” Panel 3, the 12-year-old walks Sebastian through their process, “I’ll add some “grain” because during early youtube everything looked horrible. Should I add text? LIke a link to a fake blog?” Sebastian, “Yes!” Panel 4, Close up on the a frame of the 12-year-old in action with the sword. Panel 5 The 12-year-old continues their process, “Okay, I’ve seen a lot of blogs from that time. I’ll come up with a typical “early 2000’s” blog title” Panel 6, The title reads, “LeaveBritneyAlone.wordpress.com. Sebastian says, “I don’t know how to explain this, but adding end credits would complete the idea.” The 12-year-old responds, “I should add end credits?”
