Just back from icy New York. Saw Robert Ryman at Pace. Lots of paintings in the show. Lots o’ white. Some tedious, but after a little adjustment, several are quite beautiful (see Libby’s post for another view). The paint can be luscious. I like the play of the white off the under painting and the toying with the edges (image, “Section 2” 1996).—Artist Mark Barry writes for ionarts.
