Pepón Osorio My Beating Heart/ Mi corazón latiente at The New Museum, An Assembled Trace group exhibition at Da Vinci Art Alliance, Flower workshops at Glen Foerd, plus opportunities and more

This week Da Vinci Art Alliance is hosting a group exhibition titled An Assembled Trace, running until April 23rd. There is exciting news about exhibits by two Philadelphia artists: Pepón Osorio is showing the largest collection of his work to date at The New Museum and photographer Blaise Tobia is in an exhibit at the Kunsthaus Dahlem space in Berlin. Congratulations to both of them! The State Museum of Pennsylvania in Harrisburg is having an open call and is asking for artists’ to submit their work for the annual Art of the State exhibition. Another opportunity comes from The Print Center’s 98th Annual International Competition looking for artist entries. Hope you make use of these opportunities, exhibitions, and good weather.

Hi, this week we see exciting news as The Please Touch Museum elects to unionize in affiliation with the American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees District Council 47. Becoming one of a few unionized children’s museums in the country. Locks Gallery open’s Pat Steir’s exhibition Snow and Waterfall, marking the seventh solo show with the gallery. Da Vinci Art Alliance kicks off it’s month long community arts and science festival, Everyday Futures Fest. Featuring a series of exhibitions, workshops, tours, panel discussions and more. The Velocity Fund seeks artist applicants for grants up to $5,000 and many more opportunities, shows, and news.

Bill Hutson Life and Art Memorial, Philly Celebrates Jazz, African American Museum in Philadelphia has new board members, Melissa Joseph at List Gallery, plus opportunities

Hi, this week we share sad news in the passing of architect Rafael Viñoly, designer of the Kimmel Center. Events happening soon can be found in the memorial to artist Bill Hutson. As well as in Philly Celebrates Jazz, an annual celebration featuring live jazz music, jazz-inspired block parties, jazz poetry events, jazz walking tours, and more. Philadelphia artist Odili Donald Odita opens a solo show, Windows, at Stevenson in Amsterdam. Some interesting gallery shows are soon to open in the form of the List Gallery hosting Conflicting Truths by Melissa Joseph and Automat exhibiting Centennial Rust by Christine McDonald.
